Ashley G!

That's me and my husband! My best friend... my favorite person! I know how important my pictures are to me. So I know how important your pictures are to you. A picture can say so much. This is what I love to do. I'm reminded every day how lucky I am to have this job by the people I meet and having the opportunity to capture who they are!!

The Pay Off

ASHLEY…..U R AWESOME!  THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR DEDICATION TO MAKING SURE THIS CARD IS WHAT I WANT!  WE HAVE MANY FRIENDS IN OUR HOMETOWN OF LLANO THAT WILL BE RECEIVING THESE AND I AM EXCITED TO SEND THEM OUT!  HUGS, LEAH ANN

Better than any good grade I have ever received…. better than a lot of things I’ve ever been proud of…. it’s receiving letters, notes, emails from my clients like this. This is what I work so hard for… to make sure people are happy with their pictures, sessions, Christmas cards, whatever it is… and to have a fun time with them while doing it. It makes me soooo happy to make you happy! Thanks to everyone for Christmas session this year! Thanks to Leah Ann and her family for allowing me to take their pictures. Had so much fun with you guys… GORGEOUS FAMILY!! Here’s a preview of their session on their Christmas card… I’ll be posting their session next.

Flores Family

it’s mini session time! and I super excited when Whitney called me to do family pictures for Christmas. I got to spend time with Whitney and little Gracie earlier this year for her one year pictures… she was the little blue eyed baby with the cupcake! She is adorable…and Whitney is so much fun to work with. Had a great time with the family Whitney! you guys are so cute.

Baby Dylan

Oh sweet little baby Dylan… I’m not going to lie, it takes a lot for this girl to get baby fever… but being at home with this little family totally did it to me.( Don’t get your hopes up mom :) I felt like we had just done their maternity shoot and then Raven calls me… alright when do you want to do newborn pictures? I was like OMG CRAZY you have a baby!  I had so much fun taking these. I will also admit newborn pictures have not been my strong suit, but I have some new tricks up my sleeve and I’m ready to take em on! Thanks again Raven and Ryan, I’ve said it before, but it really means so much that you guys always trust me to take your pictures.

Ryan has come to know me too well. When I got there I was like…. Raven, did you tidy up your room and bed… and she was like Ryan told me we needed to make the bed, that you would want to use it.

I have to say this makes me happy… Ryan preparing his house and mind for Ashley Gillen and her camera… hahaha YES! He knows the drill all too well that he can read my mind. This is kind of where we took the majority of the pictures.

OH EM GEE… they are so sweeet!

That picture just earned you daddy of the year my friend. I’m in love with that picture!!

& this next one… LOVE LOVE

and we will give tiny adorable baby Dylan Harper the spot light….

in her tutu… that barely fits her, seriously she is tee niny!

She is just precious.

Merry Christmas from The Gillen’s!

This year has been so busy, but some how I managed to get things done much earlier this year than last. I even made my little family take our Christmas pictures sooner this year, dragged them out to my Dad’s, decorated a stall and forced the kiddos to smile…. and then when it came time for decorating for Christmas… I just couldn’t do it. My mom convinced I wasn’t her child anymore, and my husband totally fine with not having to drag boxes out of the attic…. I felt like Cindy Loo Who…. Where are you Christmas…. why can’t I find you…. hahaha but seriously, almost didn’t do it. But of course I found Christmas!! and my house is decorated. Andy said it looks like Santa’s Little Helper exploded on the dining room chandelier. Oops. So even though it is 70 degrees outside and raining…. Christmas is right around the corner! So Merry Christmas from the Gillen people and pups! We found Christmas and we are super excited to spend time with friends and family.

December 18, 2011 - 2:08 pm Dana - i like it

January 3, 2012 - 9:40 pm tim - whats your facebook profile?

The Butaud Family

I love photographing this family…  We always have fun and Amber always knows how to coordinate their wardrobe. I love it. These kids are always stylin. That’s what my cousins little girl says to me… Ashley you so stylish… you stylin! Hahaha. Brinley and Brylen always pop into my head for many reasons… back to the Butaud’s….. Dressed up all spiffy and rollin around in the dirt if I ask them to! Makes me a happy photographer.

Beautiful Kiddos!

alright the next picture might be one of my favorite pics from the year! Just sayin… its too cute

and the best big brother!! he is so sweet to his sister… they are best friends, I can tell!

Somer and Chris

Somer Somer Somer. This girl says the funniest most random things, and it cracks me up. Somer and I met up a few months ago for dinner, which by the way needs to happen again sometime soon. So I had met Somer but not Chris and was anxious to take pics of the both of them. Plus they are kinda famous and I was super excited to get BOTH their autographs. These two are in the one of the Robbins Bros. commercials… they are the sky divers, you have probably seen them, and if you  haven’t you need to watch more TV. I see them all the time now on TV. In fact Andy knows their names… the commercial will come on and he’s like SOMER AND CHRIS!! One could say they are a household name… what what! see their video here on my blog!

Well we had a great time and I loved capturing these two, especially with their two pups!

aren’t they the cutest?Dear Chris, you were a good sport. Especially since you were missing your football game….

and then we brought their children out… Logan and the newest addition… Lucy!

These dogs are kinda awesome. Somer has spent so much time with Logan. He will literally do just about anything for her. ALSO SEE HERE!!! And I learned over dinner with Somer that he either still does or used to be able to grab a beverage for her out of the fridge… I’m thinking about leaving Tallie with Somer for a few weeks???

Dog montage….

yep that’s Lucy hangin in the air. hahaha

love this one!!!

December 29, 2011 - 8:15 am Chernobyl pictures - how do i do this

Kray Christmas!!

Oh my sweet little Kray Family. I took Kyle & Liz’s wedding… geez last year… that is craziness. Crazy how time flies. QUICK FLASH BACK….VVVVVEEEEEUUUWWWW

I was super excited to meet the new member of the family. Me and Lexie go way back, but this was my first time to meet Paisley! The Krays are like us when I say dogs and kids mean the same thing in this family. Their kids just pose for a camera better than mine. Mine are all awkward like. When you see our Christmas shoot you will see what I mean. My dogs hate the camera. If I pull out a camera they know it means they are going to be forced to sit still.

The Krays left for South Africa soon after our shoot and I’m super jealous. I just saw that Liz posted pictures on facebook and I have to say I’m a tad jealous. You will have to tell me all about it Liz. Thanks guys so much for always trusting me with your precious photos. I always love hangin out with ya’ll! Thanks again!! Merry Christmas!!!

Crofton Wedding Part Two

I don’t usually have time to blog a lot of reception pictures… but what do you know! This gal has been constantly at her computer and catching up so that I can catch up on life and give myself a stay-cation. I am pretty much caught up. I mean there is always something to do… but nothing that HAS TO BE DONE at the moment. All Christmas orders were officially put through today, all cards and CD’s in the mail… everything Check Check Check. I refused to let myself do what happened last year and wait til the very last day and still have orders to put through. Of course this meant many late nights. But I have a feeling it will all be worth it in the next few weeks… time to take my pups on a walk, sit on the couch with the hubby and watch movies and NOT FEEL BAD AT ALL ABOUT DOING THESE THINGS… why.. cuz I got nothin else to do! YAY. So since this is all true, I decided to literally blog a reception like its a wedding. And what better reception than the Crofton wedding. My last wedding this year!

This reception was nothing short of a BLAST! The food, the music, the venue, the flowers!! Everything!

My friend Billie at Poppies n Pearls did an amazing job on this reception. Call this girl if you want to have beautiful EVERYTHING!( I blogged about her here) and have the bestest time in the world planning your wedding… I’m serious… but call me to :) Double fun in a box wrapped up and place it under your tree. Done decision made!

they seriously can’t help it. just too cute

and the flower girls!!!  They reminded me of me! hahaha

& i love the next one!

There’s a familiar face!! Sarah Gwin… past Ashley Gillen Bride!!

and maybe a future Ashley Gillen Bride?? hahaha

yes… love this candid. I love everything about this picture!

Grandma got down all night long. loves this to!

already sharing everything! that’s what i like to see.

& then the farewell

Crofton Wedding Part One

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS I LOVED PHOTOGRAPHING THIS COUPLE AND THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!  It was a super long day but I enjoyed every second. The pictures say it all for this day. Just wait til you see the reception. And my favorite thing ever: when the bride and groom put time aside for just them! It’s the best and these two… so stinking cute. They are so easy to photograph!!

these guys seriously were hilarious. In fact, I had no choice but to make a man-tage! Let me narrate a few things here – the first picture: every one had their jackets different, buttoned and unbuttoned. So I told them all to just unbutton. This is when the best man revealed his ill fitted tie. HILARIOUS! Do you see how short that thing is. Some one tied his tie wrong and it was the best thing ever. And that last one: Some one had the brilliant idea of all hiding behind the trees. It was funny cuz they asked me, UM who am I to turn something so brilliant down! Of course we can!

us gals had a good time to :)

Megan and her mom! Beautiful ladies!!

Ceremony was even fun! That is her dad at the bottom…. HIGH FIVING. He is HIGH FIVING people down the aisle…. it was great! and the vows included who to and not to watch on ESPN, or something like that. If it ain’t college football, its hard for me to comprehend.

December 7, 2011 - 1:53 pm Paige - amazing!!

December 7, 2011 - 8:58 pm Hayley - Ashley, you did a great job. We were at the wedding, and you're right, it was so fun! I've known Paul almost his whole life, and we are so excited for him. He's a great guy!
