Walker got to meet his Maimie on Tuesday.
There is so much to say about this wonderful lady, I don’t even know where to begin. She isn’t my grandmother by blood…. she’s more than that. She chose to be my grandmother, and she has been there for me every single day, minute, second of my life since the day I was born. I love her more than she knows. I feel completely overwhelmed with how lucky I am that she chose to be in my life. She is my angel. She is one of my best friends and I can tell her anything.
A week before our wedding, I found out my Maimie wouldn’t be able to make it. She was in the hospital and wasn’t going to be able to leave for a while. I wanted to reschedule my wedding. I never pictured getting married without her there. It was tough for both of us. I knew she wanted to be there more than anything. Instead she stuck in a hospital bed picturing my wedding day. I thought about this as I watched my Maimie hold my son, and how special it is that she was healthy enough to meet him. We are lucky to have her in our life. God has given us a special person that loves us so much. It doesn’t get much better than moments like this.
